This artwork is based on a short story in an article.
"Once, while backpacking deep in the backcountry inside the park, she and a friend heard footsteps outside their tent, even though there were no other hikers around".—Spooky Tales from Haunted National Parks
This work uses contrast of colors to create a tense and dangerous atmosphere, and uses a close-to-ground perspective to help the audience understand and immerse themselves in the story.
Sketches & Color Roughs
The original idea of this work was available in multiple versions, including focusing the work on the backpacker’s fear of emotions or the story that the backpacker is surrounded by invisible “people”. The final selected illustration draft not only shows the backpacker's fear, but also shows the compactness of the backpacker being surrounded in the composition.

Holiday cards are one of the ways to convey feelings between people. This is a Qingming Festival card. The illustration has a sad tone and wants to convey the longing for the deceased family.
Qingming Festival is a traditional Chinese festival. It is not only an important solar term, but also a day to worship ancestors and sweep the tombs, so it is also called "outing festival" or "tomb sweeping festival".
